# Guidance for RNA isolated from PAXgene Blood RNA kit

Due to the presence of enzymatic inhibitors, RNA isolated using a PAXgene kit requires an additional cleanup step.

For total RNA isolated using a PAXgene Blood RNA kit or PAXgene Blood miRNA kit, do the following:

1. Purify the total RNA using one of the following procedures:
   1. Modified [RNeasy MinElute Cleanup Kit](https://www.qiagen.com/us/products/discovery-and-translational-research/dna-rna-purification/rna-purification/rna-clean-up/rneasy-minelute-cleanup-kit) as described in *Modified RNeasy MinElute Cleanup Kit* on page 18 of the [Globin-Zero Gold rRNA Removal Kit Reference Guide (Document# 15066013 v02).](https://support.illumina.com/content/dam/illumina-support/documents/documentation/chemistry_documentation/ribosomal-depletion/globin-zero-gold/globin-zero-gold-reference-guide-15066013-02.pdf)
   2. [RNA Clean and Concentrator-5](https://www.zymoresearch.com/collections/rna-clean-concentrator-kits-rcc/products/rna-clean-concentrator-5) as described in *RNA Clean & Concentrator-5 Kit* on page 20 of the [Globin-Zero Gold rRNA Removal Kit Reference Guide (Document# 15066013 v02).](https://support.illumina.com/content/dam/illumina-support/documents/documentation/chemistry_documentation/ribosomal-depletion/globin-zero-gold/globin-zero-gold-reference-guide-15066013-02.pdf)
