Troubleshooting Network Connection Active errors during Pre run Checks on MiSeq

Users may encounter a "Network Connection Active" error during the Pre-Run Checks after starting a sequencing run. This is typically either an issue with the network connection to the instrument or a communication error on the instrument.

To troubleshoot:

  1. Ensure that the network cable is correctly plugged into the instrument.

  2. If Network connection is not restored after removing and re-inserting the network cable, select Reboot on the Manage Instrument screen within the MiSeq Control Software to reboot the instrument.

  3. If the connection is still not restored, select Shut Down from the Manage Instrument screen, and then turn off the instrument using the power switch. Wait at least 60 seconds, and then turn on the instrument and start the software.

If a full power cycle does not resolve this error, contact Illumina Technical Support.
