# How To Replace the NextSeq 1000/2000 Air Filter Video

In this video, we will show you how to properly replace the air filter on the NextSeq 1000/2000. The air filter ensures proper cooling and prevents debris from entering the system. Air filters should be changed by every 6 months.

When an instrument is due for an air filter replacement, the system will provide the following alert.

***IM Air Filter Replacement Needed***

*The current IM Air Filter has been used for six months and needs to be replaced with a new one.*

*Press "Shut Down the Instrument" to shut down and replace the filter now, or "Remind Me Later" to be reminded in seven days.*

Consult the following video to review the air filter replacement process.
