# Troubleshooting 'EdgeOS You are offline' errors on the MiSeq i100 Series

**Background**

The MiSeq i100 Series instruments leverages **Illumina Run Manager**, a series of kubernetes microservices under the name EdgeOS that manage various aspects of the instrument Control Software. If the Illumina Run Manager services are unavailable when attempting to load certain user interfaces (UI) under the Control Software **Settings** menu, the following error can present:

![](/files/hoY8BHdZPSGoxftmhfeL)

EdgeOS You are offline.

This error message typically presents when Illumina Run Manager is restarted after changing certain configuration details such as the instrument IP address, hostname, domain name, or firewall settings. If the user moves to a different UI (such as **Cloud Settings**) under the Control Software Settings menu while Illumina Run Manager is in the process of restarting, it will display the error message above.

Illumina Run Manager should only take 10-15 minutes to restart. If this error message is encountered, select the **X** in the top-right corner to return to the Settings menu, then wait 15 minutes.

Once this is complete, navigate back to the intended UI within the Settings menu and confirm that the UI is now loading.

If the issue persists beyond 15 minutes, contact [Illumina Tech Support](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html) for further assistance.
