Background
The MiSeq i100 Series instruments are designed to route all used reagents to the waste bottle contained on the system. The cartridge does not contain typically hazardous reagents like formamide. The waste bottle contents should be disposed of in accordance with the applicable standard in your regions.
Use the Illumina Safety Data Sheets website to generate SDS reports for reagent kits used on the MiSeq i100 Series.
Emptying the User Reagents Bottle
There are two ways to dispose of the used reagents:
The Control Software will check the waste level during run setup, and will automatically open the waste compartment door when it is time to empty.
This enables the user to access and empty the used reagents from the waste bottle.
There is the option to manually empty the waste bottle. Navigate to the Settings menu and then select the Open used reagent door option.
This opens the waste compartment door, enabling the user to access and empty the used reagents from the waste bottle.
