# Handling and disposal information for used reagents on the MiSeq i100 Series

**Background**

* The MiSeq i100 Series instruments are designed to route all used reagents to the waste bottle contained on the system. The waste bottle contents should be disposed of in accordance with the applicable regional standards.
* Use the [Illumina Safety Data Sheets](https://support.illumina.com/sds.html) website to generate SDS reports for reagent kits used on the MiSeq i100 Series.

**Emptying the User Reagents Bottle**

There are two ways to dispose the used reagents:

* The Control Software will check the waste level during run setup, and will automatically open the waste compartment door when it is time to empty.
*

```
* This enables the user to access and empty the used reagents from the waste bottle.
```

* There is the option to manually empty the waste bottle. Navigate to the **Settings** menu and then select the **Open used reagent door** option.
*

```
* This opens the waste compartment door, enabling the user to access and empty the used reagents from the waste bottle.
## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:
```
GET https://knowledge.illumina.com/instrumentation/miseq-i100-series/instrumentation-miseq-i100-series-reference_material-list/000009312.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```
`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
