Background: When starting a run, the NextSeq 1000/2000 can present an error that the "flow cell is not detected" despite a properly loaded flow cell.

To troubleshoot:

1. Investigate the flow cell seating and cleanliness.

• Retry by reseating the flow cell.

1. Power cycle* the system.

• Confirm failure to recognize the flow cell persists through the power cycle.
