# Is the Nextera TDE1 enzyme pre loaded with oligos?

The Illumina transposase enzymes function by inserting a piece of DNA at the site that is cleaved/fragmented by the enzyme in a process called tagmentation.

The transposase enzyme in complex with the piece of DNA that will be inserted is referred to as a 'transposome'.

**All Illumina tagmentation-based library prep kits** (including Illumina Tagment DNA TDE1 Enzyme and Buffer Kits) **come with transposase that is pre-loaded with partial adapter sequences.**

The sequences of the pre-loaded adapters are provided in the [Illumina Adapter Sequences Document](https://support.illumina.com/downloads/illumina-adapter-sequences-document-1000000002694.html) in the 'Nextera Transposase Adapters' section:
