# Power cycling the iSeq 100

1. From the control software menu, select **Shut Down System**.
   1. If the system does not shut down, hold the power button on the left side of the instrument until the lights fade.
2. When the power button pulses, toggle the power switch on the back of the instrument to the OFF position.

3. Wait a minimum of 30 seconds.
4. Toggle the power switch back to the ON position.
5. Press the power button on the left side once it begins pulsing with light.
6. The control software will launch automatically once the boot completes and the local user account is logged into (eg, sbsuser).
