# Troubleshooting Computer reboot hangs with Illumina logo splash screen on MiniSeq

After a MiniSeq power cycle, the system powers up, but users may see the instrument stall on the Illumina splash screen without continuing with the control software boot. Additional power cycles may not be helpful, and attempts to bring up Task Manager with the ctrl-alt-delete may result in the screen flickering and returning to the logo splash screen.

This issue is likely caused by a USB device (eg, external drive, USB memory stick) being plugged into the instrument.

To resolve the issue, shut down the instrument, remove all USB devices that do not come loaded with the instrument, and power up the instrument.

If the issue persists, contact [Illumina Technical Support](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html#/united-states/technical-support) for further assistance.
