# What does the MiSeq status bar color mean?

The MiSeq instrument includes an LED status bar beneath the touch screen monitor. The status bar provides an at-a-glance indication of the current instrument state.

* **Green**: ready to sequence
* **Blue**: data processing in progress
* **Orange**: needs attention
