# Troubleshooting BIM SOUR 2 Handle Position Errors During NovaSeq 6000 System Checks

Users may encounter the following pop-up notification when attempting to start a system check on the NovaSeq 6000:

![](/files/l8yGeOi78Hx7xYpVtpT8)

This warning indicates that the wash cartridge is not properly inserted on the side indicated by the "Flow Cell X" portion of the notification. To resolve the issue, remove the cartridge from the instrument, check for and remove any obstructions, and then completely insert the cartridge into the instrument.

If this does not allow for the system checks to proceed, contact [Illumina Technical Support.](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html#/united-states/technical-support)
