# Can a NovaSeq 6000 4 lane Xp kit be used for 2 lane NovaSeq 6000 flow cells? Yes. Although the NovaSeq 6000 Xp 4 lane kits include a manifold for a 4 lane flow cell, because lane inlets and outlets are positioned consistently, the manifold can also be used for a 2 lane flow cell. The reagents are also compatible, although the full reagent volumes in the 4 lane Xp kit will not be used for a 2 lane cell flow cell, as lower volumes are used for 2 lane flow cells. \ \ \
