Background
The Memory Metal Alloy (MMA) assembly is responsible for opening and closing valves when directing the flow of reagents through the dry cartridge. Issues with one of the MMA valves not responding will trigger the instrument to stop the run and present a Sequencing failed error:
Failed executing Protocol 2Read2Index after . Motion stall
Troubleshooting Actions
Select Eject Cartridge, then remove the dry and wet sequencing cartridges from the instrument.
Power cycle the instrument to ensure all board communications are reset.
See Knowledge Article How to power cycle the MiSeq i100 for more information.
Run the instrument System Health Checks using the Test Cartridges provided with the instrument.
See Knowledge Article How to Setup the System Health Checks on the MiSeq i100 Series Instruments for more information.
Once the System Health Checks are complete, select Clear Checks and then proceed to the Control Software home screen.
Use the Export Logs - Small option to bundle the System Health Check results.
See Knowledge Article How to use the Export Logs feature on the MiSeq i100 Series for more information.
Do not select the affected Sequencing Run from the list.
Once the Export Logs workflow has completed and transferred to the External Storage, contact Illumina Tech Support for further steps.
