How to install TeamViewer QuickSupport on NextSeq 1000/2000

These instructions guide through TeamViewer installation, which may be required if TeamViewer is not installed at system installation or if TeamViewer becomes uninstalled from the system. These instructions are subject to change as TeamViewer is third-party software. The process for installing TeamViewer is dependent on the operating system (OS).

Identifying the Operating System:

  1. Open the NextSeq 1000/2000 Control Software

  2. Select the menu in the top left corner and navigate to the About page.

    1. If the Control Software version is 1.7.1 or earlier, the system is running CentOS as the OS.

    2. If the Control Software version is 2.0 or later, the system is running Oracle as the OS.

  3. Follow the instructions for the identified OS to install TeamViewer.

Instructions for downloading and installing TeamViewer on the NextSeq 1000/2000 running CentOS:

Step 1: To access the TeamViewer QS (Quick Support) download page for Linux, navigate to the Illumina Share My Desktop webpage linked herearrow-up-right and then select the link for Linux under the Using TeamViewer header.

Step 2: Select the .tar.gz button next to TeamViewer QuickSupport to download the compressed executable.

Step 3: Extract the contents of the file by right-clicking and selecting Open with Archive Manager.

Step 4: Select teamviewerqs folder and then select Extract.

Step 5: Navigate to the desktop to choose the extract location, and then select Extract.

Step 6: After the files are extracted, open the folder on the desktop and double click teamviewer.desktop. This creates a TeamViewer QS shortcut within the folder.

Step 7: Drag the TeamViewer QS shortcut to the desktop. Launch the app to start using it.

Note: In the absence of a shortcut on the desktop, launch the app by double clicking on the teamviewer file within the teamviewerqs folder.

Instructions for downloading and installing TeamViewer on the NextSeq 1000/2000 running Oracle:

Step 1: Login to the ilmnadmin account.

Step 2: To access the TeamViewer QS download page for Linux, navigate to the Illumina Share My Desktop webpage linked herearrow-up-right and then select the link for Linux under the Using TeamViewer header.

Step 3: Select the "Visit our download portal for additional downloads." button to view additional versions of TeamViewer.

Step 4: Download the x86-64bit version under the TeamViewer full client Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora option.

Step 5: Open the file navigator by selecting the Home File folder in the top left corner of the screen.

Step 6: Open the Downloads folder and extract the compressed TeamViewer by right clicking and selecting Extract Here.

Step 7: In the file navigator, right click on the Downloads folder and select Open in Terminal.

Step 8: Run the command sudo dnf install --nogpgcheck teamviewer_15.69.4.x86_64.rpm to install TeamViewer

  • Enter the ilmnadmin password when prompted

Step 9: Verify TeamViewer installed by navigating to Applications > Internet > TeamViewer
