# TruSeq Small RNA alternative T4 RNA Ligase 2, Deletion Mutant supplier

The [TruSeq Small RNA reference guide](https://support.illumina.com/downloads/truseq-small-rna-library-prep-guide-15004197.html) lists T4 RNA Ligase 2, Deletion Mutant #LR2D1132K and LR2D11310K as user-supplied consumables. However, Lucigen (formerly, Epicentre) has discontinued this product.

Illumina has identified New England Biolab T4 RNA Ligase 2, truncated (Catalog #M0242) as a suitable alternative to the Lucigen T4 RNA Ligase, Deletion Mutant enzyme. NEB M0242 is now recommended for use in the TruSeq Small RNA assay. This enzyme should be used as a 1:1 substitution without any protocol changes.
