# How to skip the pre run check confirmation on the NextSeq 500/550

The following are instructions to start sequencing automatically after a successful automatic pre-check on the NextSeq 500/550 systems.

If the system has not been configured to skip the Pre-Run Check Confirmation as described in this article, the user will need to select **Start** to begin sequencing once the pre-check completes.

To set up the instrument to skip the Pre-Run Check Confirmation:

1. In the Home Screen, select **Manage Instrument**.
2. Select **System Customization**.
3. Select **Skip Pre-Run Check Confirmation** checkbox.
4. Select **Save** to save setting and exit the screen.
