# Shelf life of Illumina Single Cell 3' RNA Prep kits

Each Illumina Single Cell 3' RNA Prep kit has a designated expiration date, after which performance cannot be guaranteed. As with all Research Use Only (RUO) reagent products, Illumina guarantees a minimum viable shelf life of **three months from the date of shipment**.

The actual shelf life may be longer based on manufacturing date relative to shipment date. For optimal performance, use reagents within the expiration date printed on the packaging.

See [Shelf life for Illumina reagent products](https://knowledge.illumina.com/instrumentation/general/instrumentation-general-reference_material-list/000003270/?utm_source=agent\&utm_medium=email\&utm_campaign=kb) for more information on RUO products.
