# Offline DRAGEN License Installation on the MiSeq i100 Series

**Background**

The DRAGEN Analysis software requires a valid license before use. For instruments that are connected to the internet, the license can be installed and validated from the DRAGEN License server.

For instruments that do not have internet connection, see the following steps.

**Resolution Actions**

1. Contact [Illumina Customer Care](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html#/united-states/customer-care) for the Offline License file keyed to the specific MiSeq i100 Serial Number.
2. Once available, transfer the **zip/compressed** license file to a USB 3.0 compatible storage device.
3. Plug in the USB 3.0 storage device into the **blue USB 3.0 port** on the left side of the instrument.
4. Login to the Control Software as an **Administrator** user account.
5. Within the Control Software, use the **External Storage** user interface (UI) to add the USB storage device.
   1. See the [Add a USB Drive](https://support-docs.illumina.com/IN/MiSeqi100Series/Content/IN/MiSeqi100/SysAddUSB.htm?Highlight=USB) section of the MiSeq i100 Product Documentation for further details.
6. From the **Settings** menu, select **DRAGEN**, then select the **License** tab.
7. Select **Update from file**, then select **From external storage**.
8. Navigate to the zip/compressed license file on the USB 3.0 storage device.
9. Click **Select**.
10. Allow the Control Software to install the license file.
    1. If there are any issues with installing the license file, select **Download log** and contact [Illumina Tech Support](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html#/united-states/technical-support).
11. Select the **Versions** tab.
12. For version line, select the **ellipses (...)** on the right side, then select **Run self test**.
13. Once the **Self Test** completes, the instrument DRAGEN Analysis software is ready to use.
