# Which NextSeq 1000/2000 run modes require a v2 sample sheet?

Local mode is the only run mode that requires a v2 sample sheet to start a sequencing run. A sample sheet can optionally be applied during standalone mode run setup if the run is to be sent to BaseSpace Sequence Hub for secondary analysis.

Cloud run and Hybrid run modes are planned via BaseSpace Instrument Run Setup and do not require a v2 sample sheet to start the run.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.illumina.com/instrumentation/nextseq-1000-2000/instrumentation-nextseq-1000-2000-faq-list/000003092.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
