# What to do if a BaseSpace analysis is stuck or stalled running

If an analysis is taking longer than it typically does in BaseSpace, consider the following before utilizing the steps outlined in this article:

1. Is the analysis demultiplexing or analyzing more data than in the past from the same instrument?
2. Is the analysis demultiplexing or analyzing data on an instrument that is different than the instrument typically used?
3. Is BaseSpace performing normally?

If at least one if the above is true, allow the analysis to continue running for some additional time. If an analysis that is performing correctly, stopping and restarting the analysis may increase the turnaround time of the analysis.

If the analysis does need to be stopped and restarted, follow the steps below.

**How to Stop and Requeue a FASTQ Generation App Session:**

1. Navigate to the FASTQ Generation session to be stopped.
2. Select the Status option ![](/files/Fmx1JjoSbpwl0I1809Zt)\
   then select **Cancel** > **Analysis**.

* Once the analysis is stopped it shows as **Aborted** in the Status line.

3. Navigate to the Run to be requeued for demultiplexing.
4. Select the Status option ![](/files/15K5BQbMxfv3SYYysrs8)\
then select **Requeue** > **Sample Sheet**.
5. The screen that follows is prepopulated with the original sample sheet that was provided during run set up. Paste a new sample sheet from a csv text file or leave the prepopulated sample sheet as is.
6. Once a message states that the “**Sample sheet is valid.**” select the **Queue Analysis** option.
7. The FASTQ Generation session has now been requeued.
