# Troubleshooting ThermoCouple\_Side TemperatureProbe not operating as expected on the NextSeq 500/550

Users may experience the following error during a sequencing run on the NextSeq 500/550.

"ThermoCouple\_Side TemperatureProbe is not operating as expected. This will not affect the run. Please contact Illumina Technical Support."

This error may indicate communications issues or sensor issues onboard the instrument but does not impact run performance.

To reset the communications systems on the instrument, perform a power cycle as detailed in the Illumina Knowledge article **How to Perform a NextSeq 500/550 Power Cycle.**

If the issue recurs after power cycling or has occurred previously, contact Illumina Technical Support at <techsupport@illumina.com>.
