How to change a run folder name on the NextSeq 500/550
The following are instructions for changing the NextSeq 500/550 run folder name:
Close the NextSeq 500/550 Control Software (NCS).
Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Illumina\NextSeqControlSoftware\InstrumentShell.NextSeqControlSoftware.Options.cfg
Create a backup copy of this config file. For example, name the backup copy InstrumentShell.NextSeqControlSoftware.Options.cfg.BAK
In the original configuration file (ie, InstrumentShell.NextSeqControlSoftware.Options.cfg) edit the following line to update the instrument name, add the experiment name, etc.:
Launch NCS.
An example of adding an experiment name is as follows:
{YY}{MM}{DD}_{SERIAL}_{RUN}__A{FCSERIAL}_{EXPERIMENT}/RunIDTemplate>
Note: The experiment name is pulled from the sample sheet. As such, this will not work for runs set up in manual mode.
