# Troubleshooting DRAGEN version warnings and errors after the NextSeq 1000/2000 Control Software upgrade to version 1.7

Then NextSeq 1000/2000 control software version 1.7 is only compatible with DRAGEN versions 4.2 and later. As a result, after the control software upgrade, previous versions of DRAGEN must be deleted in order to install the most up-to-date version. When the control software is initialized, the following warning message will be displayed as a reminder of the required workflow upgrades:

To upgrade the DRAGEN workflows, all current DRAGEN workflows must be deleted. This can be done by:

1. Select the menu in the top left corner and selecting DRAGEN
2. Under version, select the trash can and verify the deletion of each workflow. (DRAGEN BCL Convert will need to be deleted last)
3. When all workflows are deleted, install the latest version of DRAGEN by selecting "Check Online" or "Browse for New Version" and following the prompts. (DRAGEN BCL Convert must be installed first)

If newer versions of DRAGEN are installed prior to the deletion the older version of DRAGEN BCL Convert, an error will occur stating "Unable to delete the workflow for current DRAGEN version" when trying to delete the older version of DRAGEN. To resolve this, the user will need to delete all DRAGEN workflows and install them again starting with DRAGEN BCL Convert.
