Restore to Factory Settings Option on iSeq 100

If an issue arises that is suspected to be related to the operating system, software, permissions, Group Policy Object (GPO), anti-virus, forgotten password, or if data must be cleared before returning an instrument to Illumina, restore the iSeq 100 computer to factory settings.

This process will erase the C:\ drive. The D:\ drive will not be affected, so run data, system checks, pre-run checks, and any other files stored on the D:\ drive (as well as settings changed on the D:\ drive) will not be deleted nor restored.

For further information on the Restore to Factory Settings workflow, please refer to the "Troubleshooting" section of the iSeq 100 System Guide.

Note: Prior to performing the restoration/factory reset, move the iSeq Control Software Logs (C:\Program Files\Illumina\iSeqSbsControlSoftwareServer\Logs) to the D:\ drive. If an Advanced Exchange is required, iDepot requires the iSeq Control Software Logs for review, so it is important that they are preserved on the D:\ drive.

Note: Prior to performing the restoration, also move the iSeq Control Software installer, as well as any Local Run Manager (LRM) module installers, from C:\Illumina\ to the D:\ drive. Otherwise, the control software and any LRM modules must be re-installed after the restoration is complete.

Steps for restoring iSeq 100 to factory settings:

  1. Restart Windows.

  2. Install the control software:

    1. Download the software installer from the iSeq 100 Sequencing System support pages. Save the installer to a network location or portable USB drive.

      1. If the installer was moved to the D:\ drive before the factory reset, proceed to Step 2.

    2. Copy the installer to C:\Illumina.

    3. When the update is complete, select Finish.

    4. Power cycle the instrument. For further information, search for Knowledge Base article Power cycling the iSeq 100.

  3. Follow the onscreen prompts to reset sbsadmin and sbsuser passwords, perform first-time setup, including the system check with the reusable test cartridge and reusable test flow cell.

    1. If not prompted to automatically change the sbsadmin or sbsuser passwords, log into the accounts using the default password iSeqSequencer and change them as desired.

  4. Install Local Run Manager analysis modules.

    1. Switch to the sbsadmin operating system account.

    2. Download the software installers from the Local Run Manager support pages. Save the installers to a network location or portable USB drive.

    3. Copy the installer to C:\Illumina.

    4. Open the installer (\*.exe), and then follow the prompts to perform the install.

    5. When the update is complete, select Finish.
