The air filter is a single-use rectangular cartridge that covers the fan on the right side of the NextSeq 1000/2000 instruments. It allows for proper cooling and prevents debris from entering the system. The instrument ships with one air filter installed and one spare. Additional air filters are included with an active instrument service contract (filters are not sent automatically; rather, users can request them by send an email to Illumina Technical Support, techsupport@illumina.com), or they can be purchased separately from Illumina.
