# Troubleshooting Inaccurate Estimated Completion Time on the MiSeq i100 Series

**Background**

The MiSeq i100 Series instrument uses data from previous sequencing runs to provide an accurate estimated time to completion for ongoing sequencing runs. Generally the estimated time is accurate to within an hour, and becomes increasingly accurate as the instrument collects data from completed sequencing runs.

If the estimated time to completion is off by more than an hour after completing more than 5 sequencing runs, see the following Troubleshooting Actions.

**Troubleshooting Actions**

1. Log into the Control Software as an **Administrator** user.
2. Select the dropdown menu in the top-left corner, then select **Settings**.
3. Select **Time settings**.
4. Use the **Time zone** dropdown menu to select the correct local time zone.
5. \[Optional] Input the local **Network Time Protocol** (NTP) address.
   1. This is only required if local network settings prevent the instrument from accessing the internet and a local NTP server has been configured. Consult the local IT team for additional assistance.
6. Select **Save**.

If the estimated time to completion is not corrected after the next sequencing run, contact Illumina [Tech Support](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html#/).

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.illumina.com/instrumentation/miseq-i100-series/instrumentation-miseq-i100-series-troubleshooting-list/000009362.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
