How to degas the Te flow

The proper technique for degassing the Te-flow is as follows.

  • Set water circulator to 44°C in preparation for XStain.

  • When the temperature reaches ~ 30°C, separate the heat exchanger (black piece) from the reagent pan (white base) (A).

  • Lift the heat exchanger upright and away from you (tubing at the bottom) (B) and Turn 90° counterclockwise (C).

  • Turn back horizontal (A). Repeat (B) > (C) > (A) 3 times for a total of 4 rotations or until air/bubbles are no longer audible.

  • Using Kimwipes dampened with lab-grade water, clean all surfaces between the heat exchanger and reagent pan as indicated by the blue arrows shown in D and E to remove reagent build-up. Discard Kimwipes with formamide waste.

  • Place Te-flow back on the reagent pan and ensure it is flush using the two guide pins in the reagent pan.
