# How to troubleshoot MaxWetS2SpotIntensity Errors during Wet Pre Run Checks on the NovaSeq X Series

**Background**

The Wet Pre-Run Checks (PRCs) flow a small amount of buffer through the flow cell to verify the instrument fluidics are performing as expected. Part of this routine verifies the instrument can locate the flow cell surfaces. If the intensities from this check are above the saturation limit, the Wet PRCs fail with an error referencing the MaxWetS2SpotIntensity.

If this issue presents, note which Side was unsuccessful and collect the `setup-A` or `setup-B` folders for the appropriate Side. These logs are located in the /usr/local/illumina/runs directory on the instrument. Once collected, contact [Illumina Technical Support](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html) for next steps.
