# Can BaseSpace files be transferred directly to AWS (Amazon Web Services)?

**What is most efficient way to move data from BaseSpace to S3 bucket or can the files on BaseSpace be transferred directly to AWS (Amazon Web Services)?**

Illumina does not support or have recommendations to upload data directly from an instrument or BaseSpace to S3 bucket. However, one of the options is user can install BaseSpace Command Line Interface CLI on a server and transfer the data to S3 bucket.
