# Enabling automatic reagent purge on the MiniSeq

Automatic reagent purging refers to the process where, after a run completes, the remaining reagent volume in the reagent cartridge is moved to the waste container. This is **optional**.

To enable automatic purging of reagents in the MiniSeq Control Software, navigate to Manage Instrument > System Customization > Select "Purge Consumables at End of Run."\* Purging leftover reagents after a 300 cycle run takes approximately 50 minutes.

* Purging all reagents from the 300 cycle kit takes approximately 4.5 hours.
