# Troubleshooting MiniSeq Z stages are not ready initialization error

If a loaded flow cell is not seated correctly during a power cycle, the MiniSeq Control Software (MnCS) will fail initialization with the following error:

* "The following Z stages are not ready after initializing: 1"
* "1 devices failed initialization and 2 devices were never initialized: ImagingModule: Initialize FAILED, Fluidics: NOT Initialized, Instrument: NOT Initialized (Illumina.Instrument.Logic.ApplicationBase.DeviceException)"
