# Troubleshooting Windows services menu shows Log On As options greyed out

The services application must be running as an administrator to modify the Log On as account. If the services application is opened and run from a standard account, the Log On As options will be read only, and non-modifiable.

Example:

![](/files/n4y38Vi2FMpyScBUnlkj)

**Resolve by following one of the below options:**

1. Switch from the standard account to an administrator account and update.
2. Close the Services application and Re-Open, being sure to right-click and run as administrator to make changes. Enter the administrator password when prompted.
