# How to Find Sample Sheet Templates Compatible with Local Run Manager for MiSeq Control Software v4

Illumina Experiment Manager (IEM) generated sample sheets are **not** compatible with MiSeq Control Software (MCS) v4 Sample Sheet mode Run Setup or Local Run Manager (LRM).

Create properly formatted sample sheets in two ways:

1. Create a sample sheet within LRM v3 or LRM v4 (using the export option). See more details in the Knowledge Base article [How to Create a Sample Sheet in Local Run Manager](/instrumentation/general/instrumentation-general-reference_material-list/000008106.md).
2. Download template sample sheets from the Illumina website that are compatible with LRM.
   * To find the correct sample sheet: [Use the Module selector](https://customprotocolselector.illumina.com/selectors/LRM-module-selector/Content/Source/FrontPages/LRM-module-selector.htm).
   * Select **MiSeq** > Select **MCS 4.0** or **MCS 4.1** > Choose desired module > Select **Module Download**.
   * Edit the sample sheet in Excel, then use for runs performed in 'Sample Sheet' mode.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.illumina.com/instrumentation/miseq/instrumentation-miseq-reference_material-list/000003882.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
