What is the difference between AmpliSeq for Illumina custom DNA HotSpot and Gene Design Panels?

* A **Hotspot** Panel is used for targeting small SNPs that can be (each) targeted by a single amplicon. These designs include a single pool of panel primers (panel oligos).
* A **Gene** **Design** Panel is used for targeting genes or regions of the genome. These designs have at least two panel primer pools (panel oligo pools).
