# Can MiSeq Reagents be stored at 80°C rather than 20°C?

Illumina does not recommend storing reagent cartridges at -80°C. This storage temperature has not been validated by Illumina and may cause reduced efficacy of reagents as well as increased potential for the cartridge plastic to crack or break.
