# When do quality scores appear during a sequencing run on the MiSeq?

Quality scores appear after cycle 25 of sequencing. The software uses the first 25 cycles to determine the chastity of the base calls, which, in turn, determines the quality. Sometimes quality scores will not appear until a few cycles after cycle 25 due to data processing time.
