# How to install TeamViewer QuickSupport on the NovaSeq X Series Instruments

Background The TeamViewer QuickSupport application allows users to provide Illumina Support teams with remote access to the NovaSeq X Series instruments for troubleshooting assistance. The following steps can be used to install the QuickSupport application to the instrument when needed. **IMPORTANT NOTE:** The QuickSupport software is safe to use during instrument operation, though it should be closed whenever not in use to allow the NovaSeq X Series instrument access to all available computer resources.\
Use the following steps to install TeamViewer QuickSupport on the NovaSeq X Series.

1. On the instrument, open the pre-installed Chromium browser and navigate to share.illumina.com.
2. Under the **Using TeamViewer** header, select the **Linux** link.
3. Once the TeamViewer web page loads, scroll down and then select the **Download QuickSupport** button.
4. Once the download finishes, locate the **teamviewer\_qs.tar.gz** download status in the bottom-left corner of Chromium, then select the ^ button and select **Show in folder** (Figure 1).
5. Once the Files application opens to the default Downloads directory, right click on **teamviewer\_qs.tar.gz** and select **Extract Here** (Figure 2).
