# Tested Product Guidance for USB External Storage Devices on the MiSeq i100 Series

**Background**

The MiSeq i100 Series instruments have a USB 3.0 port that can be used to connect USB storage devices and configure these devices for use as External Storage when running the instrument. Illumina Support teams have tested the following list of USB external storage devices and associated peripherals to identify those that are confirmed to work with the MiSeq i100 Series.

Given the large number of USB storage devices on the market, Illumina **highly recommends** users purchase a recommended USB3.0 Hub below. This can improve compatibility with untested external storage devices, as well as enable users to safely use more than one USB 3.0 storage devices with the instrument.

This list should not be viewed as exhaustive and will be updated as further devices are tested.
