The NovaSeq X Series instruments use Universal Copy Service (UCS) to automatically copy data from the instrument to a configured External Storage location. With NovaSeq X Series Control Software v1.3 and above, use the Restart File Transfer feature to restart an incomplete or stalled file transfer, or transfer files to a newly configured External Storage location.
This feature can only be used if the file transfer successfully started but did not complete successfully. For sequencing runs that did not transfer files due to a Network Pre-Run Check error, or instruments running Control Software v1.2.2 or below, contact Illumina Tech Support.
If transferring files to a new External Storage or Output folder location, configure the External Storage and output folder before proceeding. See Knowledge Article How to configure External Storage locations on the NovaSeq X Series instructions for assistance.
From the NovaSeq X Series Control Software Home screen, select the global navigation menu at the bottom of the screen, then select Runs.
In the Runs user interface (UI), select the Completed tab.
Under the Run Name column, select the sequencing run to open the Run Details UI.
In the Run Details UI, select the Show More dropdown next to Run Status.
Select Restart file transfer.
Use the Copy output location dropdown to select the desired location from the list of configured output folder locations.
Select Restart.
Once the data copy has restarted, the run data will be copied to a new Run folder as ./[Output_Dir]/[RunID]-Recopy-# where # is the recopy attempt number.
