This may indicate a communications issue onboard the instrument or may indicate problems with the onboard computer.

To resolve this error, perform a power cycle of the instrument using the power switch on the rear of the instrument. While this is typically not recommended, in this case the option for a normal power cycle will not be available.

1. Use the toggle switch at rear right to switch the instrument off.
2. Wait 5 minutes with the instrument completely shut down.
3. Use the toggle switch to turn the instrument on.
4. Once the power button on the right front side of the instrument begins to pulse, press the power button to turn the instrument computer on.
5. Log in as normal.

If there are any issues with re-initialization, or the subsequent run freezes or errors out, contact [Illumina Technical Support.](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html#/united-states/technical-support)
