Troubleshooting Runs not Uploading to Cloud on the NovaSeq X and MiSeq i100 Series

Background

The NovaSeq X and MiSeq i100 Series platforms allow users to upload data to the Cloud for run monitoring, storage, and analysis needs. This feature requires that the Control Software is configured to upload run data to the Cloud, and the user has logged into a Cloud Account prior to run setup.

If sequencing run data is not uploading to the Cloud as expected, see the following Troubleshooting Actions.

Troubleshooting Actions

  1. Review Cloud Settings within Control Software.

    1. Select the Settings menu, then select Cloud Settings.

    2. Ensure the appropriate regional Hosting Location is selected.

    3. For Enterprise BaseSpace Account users, input the private domain name in the free text field.

    4. Under Run Settings, select appropriate Cloud upload service:

      1. Cloud run monitoring: Uploads run metric files only.

      2. Cloud run storage: Uploads run metrics and run data. Required for Cloud Analysis.

    5. Select Test Configuration and confirm that all required URLs are reachable.

      1. If there are any failures, report these to the local IT team and request that they are added to network security allow lists.

    6. Select Save.

  2. Use a Cloud login when first logging into the Control Software.

    1. During run setup, the Cloud run settings header includes a dropdown menu and allows users to select either Run monitoring or Run monitoring and storage (Figure 1).

  3. Using a Local login prevents uploading to the Cloud and shows "Not enabled" under Cloud run settings on the Run Review page during run setup (Figure 2).

    1. If observed, exit run setup and log out of the local account, then login using a BaseSpace account.

    2. Restart run setup after logging in as a Cloud user and confirm that Cloud run settings are enabled on the Run Review page.
