How to transfer data in BaseSpace from Public Domain to Enterprise Domain

Use the steps below to transfer a run and/or project from the Public BaseSpace domain to an Enterprise domain.

  1. A user accepting the data transfer must have an account on the public (non-Enterprise) domain.

  2. The user accepting the data transfer must create a public domain account and invite the account to the collaborative workgroup, within the Enterprise account.

  • For further information on how to add a user from the Public domain to a collaborative workgroup on an enterprise domain, search for Knowledge Base article How to invite users to a workgroup on BaseSpace Sequence Hub (Professional or Enterprise tier)

  1. Once the user's public domain account is added to the collaborative workgroup, initiate the transfer of the runs/projects from the public account/workgroup to the receiving user's public domain account.

  2. After the transfer is initiated, the receiving user accepts the data transfer into the collaborative workgroup from their public domain account.

  • Make sure that the receiving user is logged into the public domain, not logged into their enterprise domain, and that the collaborative workgroup is selected from the drop-down menu under "Context to Accept."

  1. After the user accepts the data transfer, log out of the public domain and into the enterprise domain to transfer the accepted data from the collaborative workgroup to any other workgroup in the enterprise domain.

Note: Once data is accepted into an enterprise account's workgroup, it cannot be transferred out of the Enterprise account to the public domain, or to a different private domain.
