How to change ownership of a BaseSpace Professional Workgroup or Enterprise Domain
BaseSpace Sequence Hub (BSSH) offers a variety of account types, all of which are owned by a particular user\*. Occasionally, ownership of these accounts must be updated due to a variety of reasons. For changing the ownership of either a BSSH Professional Workgroup or Enterprise Domain, use the guidance provided below.
First, the new Owner must be added to the Workgroup as an administrator.
Log into a BSSH account with preexisting administrator status for the intended Workgroup at https://basespace.illumina.com/
If the group is unsure of which accounts may have admin status, log into BSSH with any account that has access to the intended Workgroup and navigate to Settings. The email address listed under the Account section will show the admin status for that Workgroup.
Select the intended Workgroup by selecting the user name or the Workgroup name listed in the top-right corner of the window.
Select the name of the Workgroup once more after the page loads, then select Settings > Manage Workgroups.
Select the Workgroup.
Select Invite on the right-hand side.
Add the desired future Owner's email address and then select Grant Access.
Once selected, the new email address will receive an automated email confirming access.
Next, change the ownership of the Workgroup.
Log into the following site using the current Workgroup Owner's email address: https://use1-prod-ioms.subscription.illumina.com/ui/index.html
Select Manage > Admins.
Select Change Admin.
Enter the new Owner's email address and select Change.
An automated confirmation email will be sent to the new Owner.
Lastly, once the admin change is complete, a member of the workgroup must log in to the workgroup. This action will update the system and make sure that the changes are in place.
\*For detailed descriptions of the various BSSH account types, refer to the Account Types page on the BSSH Help Center website.
