# Where to find the MAC Address for the MiSeq i100 Series

The MAC address is a unique identifier associated with each Network Interface Card (NIC) on each MiSeq i100 Series instrument. The MAC address can be identified in from the following locations:

1. The **Shipping Notification** email includes the MAC address for ENP66S0\_34 (LAN1).
2. The **Welcome Screen** when first initializing the instrument presents the LAN1 MAC address.

The MAC address for the second NIC (LAN2) can be identified in the MiSeq i100 Series Control Software after completing **First Time Setup**. See the following steps:

1. Plug in an ethernet cable into the **LAN2** (right-most) port on the back of the instrument to activate the LAN2 NIC.
2. Login to the MiSeq i100 Series Control Software using an **Admin** account.
3. From the Home screen, select the **dropdown menu** in the top-left corner, then select **Settings**.
4. Select **Network Settings**.
5. The MAC Address is listed under the **LAN2** header on the right side of the screen.

Contact [Illumina Tech Support](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html) for further assistance if the MAC Address cannot be identified using the steps outlined above.
