# Troubleshooting RheodyneValve error on NextSeq 500/550

The following error on the NextSeq 500/550 indicates that there is an issue regarding the sippers controlled by the valves. The Rheodyne valve is not prone to failure, and this typically results from a transient communication error.

**Error in Fluidics.FlowCellFluidics1.LanePump.IxPassThroughRheodyneValve1: Reinit while recovering from error””. Originally caused by” Timeout waiting 60000ms within EventToBclockingConverter.WaitForData().**

**Troubleshooting steps:**

1. Power cycle the NextSeq 500/550.
2. Run the ‘Valve Response Test’ portion of the System Check.
   1. Select **Manage Instrument** > select **System Check**.
3. Perform a manual quick wash for further testing.

* If the error does not recur, the instrument is cleared for use.
* If the error comes back during initialization, system check, or during the wash, contact [Illumina Technical Support](https://www.illumina.com/company/contact-us.html#/).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.illumina.com/instrumentation/nextseq-500-550/instrumentation-nextseq-500-550-troubleshooting-list/000001389.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
