Troubleshooting "Not all RTA and CIB Services are Running" warning on the NovaSeq 6000

The NovaSeq Control Software may show a warning "Not all RTA and CIB Services are Running. Please do a full instrument Power Cycle. If the problems persist, reinstall the software suite" mid-run on the NovaSeq 6000.

This warning is usually the result of a communications error between the Single Board Computer (SBC) and the Compute Engine (CE) and does not usually impact sequencing or run performance.

If the run is ongoing, allow the run to complete, then perform the following troubleshooting actions.

  1. Minimize the NovaSeq 6000 Control Software by opening the dropdown menu in the top left corner and the selecting Minimize Application.

  2. Open Windows File Explorer and confirm that the Z:\ drive is mapped and accessible.

  1. After confirming Z:\ drive is mapped and accessible, power cycle the NovaSeq 6000 instrument.

If there are no issues with re-initialization, set up the next run and monitor for additional occurrences of this warning.

If the warning occurs again or if initialization fails, contact Illumina Technical Support.
