What’s new:* Use of the new NextSeq 1000/2000 P1 and P2 Reagent Kits are enabled by an upgrade to NextSeq 1000/2000 Control Software Suite v1.5. This upgrade is required to run the new kits and can be self-installed.
Viewing metrics of runs performed using NextSeq 1000/2000 Control Software v1.5 requires Sequencing Analysis Viewer (SAV) v2.5.12.
The P1 and P2 Reagent Kits provide a maximum read length of 2 x 301 bp.
The P2 600 Cycle Reagent Kit will produce up to 300 million clusters.
A P1 100 Cycle Reagent Kit is also now available.

*The P2 600 Cycle Reagent Kit results in 300M clusters (single read) passing filter while the P2 100 Cycle, 200 Cycle, and 300 Cycle Reagent Kits result in 400M clusters (single read) passing filter. The lower reads passing filter for the P2 600 Cycle Reagent Kit is to ensure higher quality of the longer read length.

What are the new sizes of P1 and P2 Reagent Kits that are available? The new sizes include the P1 100 Cycle, P1 600 Cycle, and P2 600 Cycle Reagent Kits. What NextSeq 1000/2000 Control Software version is required to run the new P1 and P2 Reagent Kits? Version 1.5 of the NextSeq 1000/2000 Control Software introduces compatibility with the new P1 and P2 kits. Older versions of the control software are not compatible. What version of Sequencing Analysis Viewer (SAV) will be required and on what operating system can it be installed? SAV Version 2.5.12 will be required to view run metrics performed with NextSeq 1000/2000 Control Software v1.5. SAV v2.5.12 is only intended for use with off-instrument NextSeq 1000/2000 run data (Windows version 10 or later) and is not required for any other platform. **Is the data from the new P1 and P2 kits compatible with onboard DRAGEN workflows?*DRAGEN v3.10.11 (planned for release in mid-December 2022) onboard the NextSeq 1000/2000 is recommended to generate FASTQ files with 600 cycle kits. The new P1 100 Cycle Reagent Kit has a maximum of 138 cycles, the new P1 600 Cycle Reagent Kit has a maximum of 638 cycles, and the new P2 600 Cycle Reagent Kit has a maximum of 638 cycles. Does the Demo Data in BaseSpace Sequence Hub (BSSH) show the different examples of run performance? Yes, BSSH Demo data provides P1 100 Cycle Reagent Kit, P1 600 Cycle Reagent Kit, and P2 600 Cycle Reagent Kit run data. How is thawing of the new 600 Cycle Reagent Kit different to the kits that have fewer than 600 cycles? If using the controlled water bath at 25°C, the 600 Cycle Reagent Cartridge requires an additional thaw time of 2 hours.
Thawing at room temperature (20°C to 25°C) requires a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 16 hours.
