How to change passwords for the Control Software accounts on the MiSeq i100 Series Instrument

Background

MiSeq i100 Series Control Software User accounts will require a password to login, and this password will need to be updated at regular intervals. Administrators and Sequencer Operators accounts can update their password when prompted by a password expiration notification. Administrator accounts can reset Sequencer Operator and Administrator account passwords at any time.

When an Administrator resets a password for another User account, the User can sign in using the temporary password and then set their new password.

To change the password

1. Initialize the MiSeq i100 Series Control Software and log in to an Administrator or Sequencer Operator account.

2. Select the menu icon in the upper-left corner.

3. Select Change password at the bottom (Figure 1)

4. Enter Old password, New Password, then Confirm New Password (Figure 2).

5. Select Save when finished.

To reset a Control Software User password

1. Initialize the MiSeq i100 Series Control Software and log in to an Administrator account.

2. Select the menu icon in the upper-left corner.

3. Select Settings, and then select Users.

4. Select the User to edit.

5. Select Reset password (Figure 1)

6. Input a new password for the User account (Figure 2).

   1. This password is a temporary password for that User account and must be changed on first login.

7. Select Save when finished.
