# Which BaseSpace Subscription is needed to process Illumina 3' Single Cell RNA Samples

When purchasing the Illumina Single Cell 3' RNA assay, the cost of performing the DRAGEN Single Cell RNA Analysis is included in the cost of the assay. Starting with DRAGEN Single Cell RNA 4.4.2 and higher, the Illumina Single Cell 3' RNA Library prep it is a built in option and the expected analysis settings will be set by default and is free for users to launch.

The BaseSpace DRAGEN Single Cell RNA app is free of cost starting with 4.4.2, so a [Basic BaseSpace account](https://help.basespace.illumina.com/overview/account-types#basic-account) (also referred to as an expired free trial account) can process samples with no additional need to purchase a BaseSpace Subscription. With a BaseSpace Basic account it is limited to a single terabyte (1TB) of storage, and once that threshold is exceeded no further analysis can be performed until the account is below the 1TB. To avoid any analysis launch issues, it is recommended to upload input datasets in batches smaller than 1 TB. Once the DRAGEN Single Cell RNA analysis completes, data can still be downloaded even after exceeding the 1TB storage limit. This process can be repeated until all samples have been processed.

One consideration for Illumina 3' Single Cell RNA customers is that the DRAGEN Reference builder app is not currently free and cannot be launched from a BaseSpace Basic account. If the samples will require using a reference not currently available from the dropdown selection, the DRAGEN Reference Builder will be required. It is highly recommended to use the complimentary 250 iCredits provided during the Free Trial Period to generate the required hashtables. It is critical to select the option "Include RNA Data in Reference" to make sure the generated hash table reference is compatible with the DRAGEN Single Cell RNA App
