How to invite users to an Enterprise domain workgroup, via a collaborative Enterprise domain account

The steps below outline the process for inviting users to an Enterprise domain workgroup, via an account on a Collaborative Enterprise domain. Users to be invited must create their account prior to being invited. If a user email is invited before the account is created, there will be no error message and a confirmation email will be sent to the email address specified. However, because no account existed with that email on the domain specified prior to the invite being sent, there will be no updates to the database, even if the account is created after the fact. The user must create an account and request the domain/workgroup admin re-invite them.

Steps:

  1. (Domain admin) Log into domain at https://.login.illumina.com/

  2. Open IAM Admin Console:

  3. From the DOMAIN tab, select COLLABORATION MANAGEMENT.

  4. Enter the domain of the collaborative enterprise account(s) to be invited and click the + icon.

    1. A confirmation message will appear, verifying the domain has been successfully added.

    2. If the domain does not exist, an error message will appear in which case the user will need to check and confirm the domain string entered.

  5. (Domain or Workgroup admin) From the WORKGROUPS tab, select the Workgroup to which users are to be invited. Note: workgroup must be a Collaborative workgroup, which can only be set during workgroup creation (see this article).

  6. Select USERS to invite regular users to the Workgroup (default tab is ADMINS which is used to invite users to become Workgroup admins).

  7. Select Invite and enter desired email address(es) (one address per line) and check the button for "Invite via collaborative enterprise".

  8. Select Grant Access.

Invited users can now log in via their enterprise domain (eg, https://ilmn.login.illumina.com from example above) and navigate to the appropriate application (eg, BSSH) where they can then select the workgroup to which they have been added.
